The Smell Of Christmas Eve

It was a freezing winter morning. I was standing at the tram stop and waiting to see a dear friend of mine. We were close to Christmas time, and we had to exchange gifts. I looked around, and the streets of Milan were full of flashing lights. People moved frantically between one shop and another to make their last purchases, and a thin fog pervaded the city, as is customary in the northern metropolis. The tram arrived, I run to meet my friend who immediately threw his arms around my neck and kissed me on the cheek. I notice that instead of walking away, he moved closer, plunged his face into my scarf, and whispered in my ear, “Wow, what a wonderful smell you have! Just the ones I like!”. “I’m glad you like it, it’s a gift I gave myself for Christmas.”  " IL (Eau de Toilette) | Lancetti " had just come out on the market, the autumn-winter season of the early 90s. At that time I was working to support my studies, and the perfume was only one, and it had to last for the entire s

ZARA Tempting Rose

ZARA Tempting Rose fraghead review
ZARA Tempting Rose

The naive fuchsia coral bottle of  ZARA Tempting Rose attracted my gaze immediately, the glass is colored from the inside and so does the transparent cap. Despite the three notes mentioned on the official page, such as red berries, rose, and coffee I got more than that. I bought this beauty impulsively without any doubt, after trying it. It's just sumptuous! With a fruity opening that is due to the red fruits of its high notes and a floral heart based on roses, its warm and spicy dry down makes the difference with the gourmand coffee chords in its base notes. The first thought I had upon smelling this was that it reminded me of something very sweet, dark, and delicious. My first thought was chocolate, but apparently, it's a coffee note, so I wasn't too far off.

Tempting Rose is a deep, pure, candy red berries with a ruby undertone, the opening is surprisingly more fruity than floral. I get a creamy citrus note like lemon sorbet, sweet, harmonious. The citrus chord, presumably mandarine and bergamot peels, is blended with red berries, red currant, wild strawberry. Oh man, it's a terribly addictive and impertinent gourmand floral that smells so good you’ll want to taste it. On my skin, it starts off as a little fruity and a bit sweet for about twenty minutes or so before the middle notes start to develop.

At the heart of Tempting Rose is an addictive green coffee accord blended with luminous sheer rose, the ultimate play of shadow and light. It is so smooth, tender, powdery. It is here that it truly shines when my favorite note starts to shine... the coffee! I have to say how much I love the way Zara has done the coffee note justice; it isn't strong and overpowering but a beautiful almost creamy coffee scent. There is a slight hint of a floral note at this point, it isn't a strong floral note but quite soft and lovely. It starts becoming sweet, spicy and gourmand at this stage after it's fruity opening.

A gourmet dose of vanilla envelops the fragrance in celestial beauty, creating a trail that is indulgent, sensuous and absolutely unforgettable. There must be some other woodsy fixatives in there, surely creamy sandalwood and velvety white musk. The end result of Tempting Rose is a divine fragrance. The creamy coffee, vanilla, slight spice and very soft fruity floral notes lingering delicately. The way the notes have been blended together is just perfection; the florals and fruity scents haven't dominated this perfume as I thought they may have.

Sensuous and alluring, this perfume is perfect for a night out clubbing, bar hopping, and partying because it makes a statement loud and clear and sparks serious intrigue. Not ideal for a professional work environment or daytime use. A luscious, creamy, sweet addictive scent that has excellent longevity and moderate sillage, I think best suited for the cooler months.

Don't let the coffee notes scare you because it balances out beautifully with the vanilla and white flowers. Really, if I had to describe ZARA Tempting Rose in one word it would be delicious.
